This thought-provoking session explores what current science tells us (and what it doesn’t) about cannabis and its effects on health. We’ll look at its potential role in managing certain conditions, the risks involved, and how age may influence both the benefits and the harms.

PRESENTER: Jamie Falk is an Associate Professor in the College of Pharmacy, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, at the University of Manitoba. His research and teaching centre on optimising prescribing practices, reducing patient burden, and promoting the effective use of evidence in clinical decision-making.
A national member of the PEER (Patients Experience Evidence Research) team, Dr Falk is also co-chair of the Making Evidence Matter for Everyone (MEME) Conference held annually in Vancouver. His work is dedicated to ensuring that healthcare decisions are grounded in sound evidence and tailored to real-world patient needs.

In addition to outlining how to access these supports, the session will also highlight practical ways to protect yourself from fraud.
