Spanish Advanced
This course is designed for seasoned learners who are comfortable expressing themselves in Spanish and are ready to refine their fluency, accuracy, and listening comprehension. We move beyond the mechanics of the language into the heart of Hispanic culture and nuanced expression. In this course, you will learn how to:
Engage in nuanced conversation on topics such as current events and social issues as well as everyday situations.
Discuss cultural works, including explorations of Spanish-language literature and film.
Master advanced grammar, focusing on the subtleties of the subjunctive and sentence structures.
Expand your vocabulary to include idioms and formal expressions used by native speakers.
Our sessions prioritize rich, lively discussion in a supportive environment, allowing you to bridge the gap between "speaking Spanish" and "thinking in Spanish." The program is flexible so as to allow students to suggest topics of personal interest.
Note: Handouts and discussion prompts will be provided by email in advance to facilitate deep classroom engagement.
