Spanish Intermediate


Program Details

If you have a solid base of Spanish with an estimated 200 hours of learning, this is a course for you. In this course we will talk about how to express challenges or predictions about the future, and describe objects. How would you express your ideas or oppose others? How would you talk over the phone? The students are exposed to accents, expressions and culture from different Spanish-speaking countries in an encouraging and collaborating atmosphere. FEE: $150.00 SCHEDULE: 10 Thursdays, January 16 to March 27 | No Class on February 20 | 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM LOCATION: Robert A. Steen Community Centre, 980 Palmerston Avenue REGISTRATION DEADLINE: One week prior to the first class. TEXTBOOK: The purchase of a textbook is not required for this class, however, it is highly recommended that students do obtain their own textbook so that they can more easily study at home with all of the class materials. Many students also choose to purchase the accompanying workbook. Given that the class may be cancelled if enrollment is not sufficient, you may wish to purchase your textbook after receiving notification that the class will run. INSTRUCTOR: Maria Karina Uehara is a Spanish Teacher. Karina was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She moved to Canada with her family in 2004. She got her B.Ed. and Licenciatura at Gral San Martin National University in Buenos Aires and her Masters in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at Universitat de Barcelona. She studied Adult and Continuing Education, and Emerging Technologies for Learning at the University of Manitoba. She has taught Spanish at university, high school and adult education levels, in person and online. She currently teaches adults, trains new teachers and develops curriculum materials at Universite de Saint Boniface. She enjoys teaching varied learners and sharing life experiences!
