Free for Members

Program Description

When you think of Rome, you might first think of great monuments like the Colosseum or the Pantheon, or the impressive aqueducts that can still be seen all over the Mediterranean world. Over three weeks, we will examine the buildings and engineering marvels of the Roman world, as well as impressive artwork like statues, reliefs, and mosaics. We will look at the Etruscan and Greek influences on Roman art and architecture as well as how Roman inventions like concrete helped to develop a distinctive Roman style. SCHEDULE: 3 Wednesdays, March 13 to 27, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM This presentation will take place online. You will receive a link to the class by email 24 hours before the presentation begins.
