ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Dr. Gordon Goldsborough, a scientist and historian, has a diverse background in academia and environmental research. Formerly a member of the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Manitoba, his career includes significant roles at Brandon University and the University of Alberta. Dr. Goldsborough has made substantial contributions to scientific literature, publishing articles in journals and co-authoring three scientific books. In addition to his scientific pursuits, Dr. Goldsborough is actively involved in the Manitoba Historical Society. Holding various leadership roles, including President and Vice-President, he has played a crucial part in preserving and promoting Manitoba's historical heritage. His community service has earned him several prestigious awards, including the Order of Manitoba in 2021. An accomplished author, Dr. Goldsborough has written five books, with "More Abandoned Manitoba" winning the 2019 McNally Robinson Book of the Year Award. His latest publication, "On the Road to Abandoned Manitoba," was released in October 2023.
