Beginning Genealogy 2: Exploring International and Local Resources Expand your genealogy journey by exploring resources from around the globe! In this workshop, you'll learn how to access and use vital statistics, census data, church records, and more. Special focus will be given to researching records in Canada, including Manitoba. Gain the skills to uncover your ancestors' stories, no matter where they lived, and navigate the unique challenges of international genealogy research. FEE: Free for Patrons SCHEDULE: Thursday, February 27 from 10:00 to 12:00 PM FORMAT: This is an online event. A link will be emailed to participants one day before the event. PRESENTER Elizabeth Briggs Elizabeth Briggs is an experienced genealogist, researcher, and instructor. She has volunteered at the Hudson’s Bay Company Archives, where she created a database of nearly 10,000 Servants' Contracts (1776–1926), and has co-authored several genealogical resources, including Biographical Resources at the Hudson's Bay Company Archives and Before Modern Medicine: Diseases and Yesterday’s Remedies. Elizabeth has been a featured speaker at events across Canada, Scotland, and the U.S., and has served as Genealogist in Residence at Winnipeg’s Millennium Library. A past president of the Manitoba Genealogical Society, she continues to teach and present at seminars, libraries, and organizations.
