Calling all camera enthusiasts! Whether you shoot with a professional DSLR, a point-and-shoot, or just your smartphone, join us for our summer photography meet-ups. We know that the midday summer sun can be a challenge for photography, so we have specifically chosen locations that offer beautiful pockets of shade, unique textures, and architectural lines!

Come learn from one another, share tips, and capture the beauty of Winnipeg through your lens.

July: We are heading downtown to Winnipeg’s favourite meeting place! The Forks is a goldmine for morning photography. We will avoid the harsh overhead sun by focusing on the deep shade under the Esplanade Riel bridge, the rich textures of the historic rail cars and brickwork, and the beautiful native prairie gardens.

August: We will take advantage of the thick, leafy tree canopy in the Leo Mol Garden. The filtered shade here is incredibly flattering for capturing the details of the magnificent bronze sculptures, the historic brick schoolhouse studio, and the shaded water lilies in the pond.
