Alberta is one of the fastest growing provinces in Canada. With the rich oil sand reserve in northern Alberta, it has been rapidly growing and deperately in need of skilled workers.


The AINP (Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program) is an immigration program operated on behalf of the Government of Alberta by the Ministry of Employment and Immigration in conjunction with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to expedite the processing of an application for permanent residence. It is designed to support Alberta's economic growth by attracting labour-market-destined immigrants to the province.

Employer Driven Stream

For employer who wishes to hire skilled and semi-skilled workers in Alberta, the AINP allows vaiours occupations to immigrate to Canada as a permenant resident after they have been working in Alberta for over a certain period of time (6-9 months depending on the occupation). Selectrion critera are general based on:

  • Applicant's worker experience in Alberta
  • Applicant's previous related work experiences
  • Applicant's age
  • Applicant's English/French abilities

Employer who wish to sponsor their employees need to provide some supporting documents and sign a couple forms, but the overall process for the employers are fairly simple.
